Bachelor’s In Education & Master’s in Counseling Education

Martha earned a Bachelor’s in Elementary and Middle School Education from an accredited university, Mississippi State University, completing her student teaching at Henderson Ward Elementary & Overstreet Elementary, 1995. She continued her education, earning a Master’s in Counseling Education and completing an internship at Armstrong Middle School, 1997. She continued her education by taking part in extended education hours during her years in the classroom. She continues to research and study to learn new instructional techniques.

During her years in education, she acted as Team Leader and sat on the Improvement Plan Committee, Policy Cmte., and Curriculum and Instruction Cmte., Her focus was on middle school World Geography & Pre-Algebra (Grade 7), American History (Grade 8), and World History (Grade 6). Prior to working with middle school students, she taught preschool (4-year-olds) while obtaining her M.S. degree. In addition, she has developed materials and provided virtual training for HR Managers in processes, procedures, and software. She has been recognized as National Who’s Who of Educators ’06, and TAMS Team of the Year ’04.

She began her journey with Teachers Pay Teachers in 2006, when it was founded by a N.Y. City public school teacher. Since then, she has produced teaching materials on World Geography, Government, Economics, Ancient Civilizations, Environmental Studies, and more. Her sales have steadily increased over the years simply as a result of her high-quality, detailed, ready-to-use lessons. She provides teachers with high-quality, detailed lessons they can afford. In 2021, she contracted with AmpedUp Learning, a Texas-based marketplace founded by two DFW area teachers.

Martha obtained her photography certification in 2013 from the UTA Extended Education. She enjoys creating and designing photographs that are pleasing and aesthetic — bringing joy to her clients through imagery. Providing product photography allows her clients to create promotional materials to grow their businesses. She is trained in Photoshop, manual-mode camera techniques, and enjoys creating simple, basic graphics, using her training, both in-studio and on location.

Accounting & Payroll

Worked for Sante Rehabilitation, Payroll, processing bi-weekly payroll for 200+ staff, overseeing purchase orders, reconciling and recording staff vacation and PTO hours. She completed an accounting course, in 2003, and a continuing ed. accounting course, in 2018. Currently, she assists clients with invoicing and processing 1099 monthly payrolls through Quickbooks online as well as assisting in processing debit /credit transactions and running financial reports.

Having worked for a communication department with a 501c3 organization for 11 years, I was the go-to and provided the last line proofing for all outgoing communications—both printed and digital material—ranging from newsletters to brochures to website content to flyers. I continue to provide my proofing services on a 1099 basis to both marketing specialists and graphic designers, and other publications. Throughout my 15+ years of administrative experience and through founding a 501c3 and acting as president for 10 years, I have maintained social media sites including Youtube, Facebook, Instagram and Twitter. I currently manage social media sites for my clients and within my part-time position with a DFW area 501c3, including but not limited to creating graphics, maintaining, and scheduling monthly social media posts. In addition, I have fifteen years of website management and basic design/build using WordPress & Squarespace.
